Day After Your Procedure

photo_oWhen your time with us is complete, we’ll fully explain what you should expect once you get home, provide written and oral directions, and make sure you have a friend or family member present to drive you home. Over the next couple of days, we’ll be in touch to see how you’re doing and to answer any questions you might have. We’ll also contact your regular eye doctor or physician to update them on your condition and to discuss our plan for your health moving forward.

As the central partner in your own healthcare, we encourage you to call us with any questions or concerns related to your recovery at any time during the process.

After your procedure:

  • Take it easy. Plan to go home and rest for the remainder of the day. Your body needs time to recover from the stress of surgery. A friend or relative should be with you throughout the night.
  • Start eating slowly.
  • Gradually resume normal activities.
  • Follow specific instructions provided by the doctor regarding diet, exercise, and resuming regular medication.
  • One or two days after your surgery, a nurse will call you at home to check on your progress and answer any questions.
